What are the pros and cons of Stainless Steel Valves? How do they compare to Monel Valves?

    Thanks

Can't think of any cons as far as the player is concerned..maybe one of the manufacturers will have input as to whether there are any problems in manufacture..maybe cost, but I don't know.

I have 2 horns with stainless valves, my Taylor and a 70s B&H Imperial cornet and both are like glass (even the 30 year old cornet!!). They don't stain either.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Trevor

My Eclipse has stainless valves, and they are the smoothest valves I've ever encountered. And that's saying a lot. I played an Olds Recording for years with nickel plated valves, and until I tried the Eclipse, the Olds valves smoked everything else. If there is a downside, it's probably cost of production. But I cannot detect a downside for the player.
