    Hey all

I have a 1991 Strad 37 ML and the laquer is really bad, was wondering if anyone knew what compound to use to remove the rest of it? I've searched the forum but found nothing on Strads. I did try the small slide in hot water but nothing happened.

    Cheers

Lacquer remover from a hardware store will do it. The one recommended most is called Aircraft lacquer strip or something similar.
Boiling water did it for my Strad, but mine is from the late 60's

Now that there is no lacquer, the brass will develop a patina. Over polishing thins the brass.
