Anyone tried to wash your horn in a dishwasher?

If any, was it a good result or not?

    Any opinions, pro, cons...

Ta ut øverste platået/skuffen i oppvaskeren.
Dra ut bøylene og tre dem nedpå piggene i nederste etasje.
La hornet stå oppreist i nederste hylle.
    Vask på økonomiprogam.

If you go to the SEARCH button on the top blue bar and type in 'dishwasher', you will find other threads about this. It appears that there are differing opinions about this but nobody has done a detailed experiment. So, take your YTR232 (it is a VERY tough horn) and try it. Then let us know how it goes. Be sure to take it apart first so the hot water can penetrate the inside as much as possible - and don't put the valve pistons in. Good luck. (Legal disclaimer: The author accepts no responsibility for damage due to silverware flying around the inside of the dishwasher during the cycle.)

In my opinion the dishwasher is too harsh an environment for your horn.

Water gets too hot. Heated dry cycle is too hot. Your horn won't fully drain during the rinse process so sediment could be left behind and baked in.

I know several people that put their silver plated trumpets in the dish washer with NO soap and the heat turned down. they say it works well. I clean my horn the old fashioned way with running water and brushes and I bet there are people here who will call me stupid for doing that.

how is a dishwasher going to clean INSIDE of the horn? Isn't that where the dirt is? I'm glad the Norwegians have this all taken care of. Jon, I am with you.

I do know why the NYTC Stage 1 California light is now for sale though.........................
