Well summer's here in the middle east and as temperatures climb into the mid 40's (about 115) time to stay inside.

    My summer reading includes:

    Improvising Jazz-Jerry Coker
Complete Method for Improvisation-Jerry Coker again
How to Play Jazz and Improvise-JA
Learn to Improvise Jazz: Major and Minor in every key
Together with a couple of fake books (in C)

    Any other suggestions?

The wife and the boys are off to the UK for July so I have 2 or 3 hours a day to out Miles!!! :D

I've heard that "Jazz Tactics" by Chase Sanborn is a great Jazz improv book.

I actually own it, but I loaned it out soon after I got it, and as of yet have not actually had the opportunity to work out of it much, but it appeared to be written in a very straightforward, understandable manner.

The Jazz Theory Book by Mark Levine, Sher Music

I took a course with Mark - he's outstanding, both as a teacher and musician.
