ok is it just me or does this super horn look like a Monette?

Even down to the thrid valve string :)

Maybe it is the finish that is making me think Monette but it just looks similar. Hevay valve caps. the 1st and 3rd rings looks like Monette rings. amado water key? why would you buld a trumpet with out a 3rd valve stop? cut down on cost  ?

No, this is not a monette copy because monette uses a fish line for the third valve slide which is more expensive than string.

If it's not at least 30lb test, I don't want the horn.

Nice to see you back Romey. Where have you been?

Is that Stren, Trilene, or Ande? :D

Seriously, I think that the "string" looks "classy" when compared to monofilament!

Gotta get the Prana upgrade to get rid of the string.

Congratulations on your sister's marriage. On your flight back, maybe you could re-route your return for a stop over in Canada so that you can try out the Super Z and get some references from Alex if you know what I mean. Afterwards, you may also not only be a Z owner but end up married as well. :)

The new Zeus trumpet does somewhat resemble the Monettes. I have actually owned three Monettes in the past, and I now own the Zeus Olympus Prototype. I can say that they are totally different horns. The Zeus is much lighter than my Monettes were. The bells are similar sizes, and the finish is similar, but they play a bit different. Both are good horns, however.
