In a trumpet, how do you play a note/series of notes that have both:
    1)staccato and slur
    2)tenuto and slur

Is the phrase slurring into the staccato, or is the staccato at the beginning of the slur? I have the same question as to the tenuto and slur positioning. The phrasing would be different depending on the order.

I have not seen a slur over tenuto, but slur over staccato means separated notes longer than staccato but still separated.

the staccato/tenuto is at the beggining, middle, and the end of the slur.
The staccato/tenuto signs are below the slur mark.

Sounds like non-legato. The notes are tongued, but held their full length.

might be that a ha or la attack is what needed.
In reading music one must remember the context of the music ( mood) expression etc. and strive to express it as it is intended to sound like.

I try not to over examine the dots, tenuto sighns etc of music to much but try and play in the style the music is required .

Eg. Staccato notes can be played too short and harshly at times and sounds terrible when the music is trying to express itself with melody.
I try and think of how will I sing the music
