Hey BigDub. Remember that painting of Emily you did for me? Well I will soon be commissioning you to do one of a puppy I got for my Mother-in-Law as a Christmas Present last year. She baby sits Emily when we are out of town and we just remodeled the bedroom she uses when here and thought having a picture of her Christmas Present, Ellie, would be cool. Just got to find the right picture to send you of Ellie and you are good to go. To all else here on TM... Use BigDub... He is simply amazing!!!!

Very nice! When I saw the penultimate version I wondered what more could possibly be needed to finish that off and now I see.
Although I don't regard myself as artless I don't have great skill in drawing or painting and am in awe of people who can do this so well. But this week I was reading about Richard Feynman the physicist who started lessons in his 40's and became quite good at drawing human figures. I don't know what his innate talent was before he started (he says he could draw geometric shapes only, which I can too) but that story gives me some small hope for myself should I ever get any spare time and a little space.

I believe you have spent your life observing your surroundings and deciding what looks good to you and what seems to look off. This life experience is extremely helpful so I say go for it!
Most problems happen when people try to draw what their brain tells them how something should look rather than what their eye tells them alone.

This would be why we are so easily drawn to conclusions.

K, I have been using acrylics for these 47 or so years. Specifically Liquitex, though I have foolishly tried other brands over the years. They are the best product for me, and they have lots of good varnishes and additives that help a lot of you use them to your advantage.
