The Goldman Band has shut down

    As an old New Yorker who loved this band and was honored to once sit next to Jimmy Burke as a student for a concert, this is a tragedy. I don't care whose fault it is, it's a shame.

    I wish I had known that the GMB was something that you could donate money to. I would have definitely contributed to help keep the band afloat. Clearly, there were other issues that could be argued by both sides.

    What a shame.

    Maybe the management would sell the name or just give it up and somebody could start the band up again.

    Could someone use the name like The Goldman Memorial Band or the Goldman Tribute Band. That band has so much history. Shutting it down is like Michael Jordan retiring from basketball with the exception that Jordan didn't play for 94-years. There will be other bands, but never one that will replace the Goldman Band.
