I'm noticing that I've gotten no responses to my question WHERE TO BREATH. Usually I can expect a sarcastic response to a stupid question. Then again I thought "there are no stupid questions on TM". Oh well I guess I'll just keep breathing as I always have, as often as possible, especially while I'm still alive. All remarks welcomed, even nasty ones...................

    Definitely not a stupid question.

Good answers from good players are worth the wait. Bad information gleaned quickly is still bad information.

    Here's a sarcastic answer.
Probably a good place to breathe would be where there is plenty of fresh air.

OK, now my best serious answer: Breathe where it least detracts from the piece, or at the end of a phrase or when there's a rest. Some guys (players) never let you see them breathe anywhere..

No stupid questions on TM? Well I've asked a few questions, so there must be some stupid ones. ;-)

I don't believe there is as much of a problem with stupid questions as their is with stupid answers.

I once called John Stork and told him I wanted a mouthpiece that lets me sound like Bill Chase playing lead, Herseth playing in an orchestra, and André playing solos while blowing like Herb Alpert. He said "No problem!" and laughed. He knew that I knew is was an unreasonable request.

We get those on TM sometimes, but stupid genuine questions, never.

and as relevant now as it was then! ;-)

Breathing seems to be one of those things, we'd rather not need to do it when we play, but it's kind of crucial!

It's something I struggle with from time-to-time, being a bit prone to 'putting it off'. Invariably I reach the end of the piece on the point of keeling over as my poor oxygen deprived mind begins to shut down
