Thinking about getting a piccolo

    Based on my experience, I would think a piccolo trumpet is best suited for the upper undergraduate level player. I play my piccolo a lot less than I thought I would when I bought it. It is a different instrument, easy to overblow, more difficult to play in tune than the lower pitched trumpets, and plays havoc with the endurance (I limit my playing to 10-15 minutes/day for this reason). I get far more playing time out of my B-flat, C-trumpet, and cornet. I enjoyed the above comments by my more experienced collegues.

    Well I just bit the bullet and bought a Getzen. Thanks for the replies. I let you know how I get on with this squirrely beast.
