Etiennse- I think there's another thread from a while back about the growling thing. After I read it I somehow taught myself how to do it. Now, don't ask me to teach you, I'm not being selfish, I just can't put it into words that make sense.....but here is my best attempt: you actually just have to go way back deep into your throat and literally just growl, and somehow it comes out as that sound you're wanting to get......Gmonady knows how to do it. He's on here a lot. PM him. He's a very helpful guy!!!

Flutter tongue is a flutter tongue. A Growl is a growl. Two very different sounding effects.

Start out by humming while you buzz into the horn. You'll hear it.

The flutter tongue is made with the front part of the tongue. The growl is with the thing that hangs down in the back of your throat(uvula). That's how it works for me.

Does anyone here consider what pitch is being growled? Or do you just go for it? Occasionally I try to play with my pitch as compared to what note I'm playing on the trumpet. I'm not not sure if this could be developd into anything useful... Except maybe grand prix race imitations.

Force yourself to play ONLY with the Harmon mute in for a week and a half ..... that will do it, trust me. :bash::woop::stars: (It makes you feel like growling)
