So your tongue cramps and you can hit high notes!? What the heck- if that keeps up I can see why you wouldn't want it fixed! :-P

It happens. I've had it happen, probably a handful of times over the last 20 years or so. I wouldn't worry about it - it goes away and even if playing, it's only going to last a minute or so.

Oddly enough I got a minor cramp in the back of my tongue just a bit ago while going through some single-tonguing exercises. Strangely, I'm not worried about it and I'm not going to go see a doctor about it. Like I mentioned above, after stopping the exercise, it went away after a couple of minutes.

Patrick brings up a good point. I would find it reassuring if you have a good reason for it happening (for example, when doing tonguing exercises), if it doesn't happen at other times, and if there are no other unusual things happening to you. However, without knowing more, it's hard to say whether it needs to be checked out by a doctor.

I think it may be related to the amount of tongue exercises I have been doing ;-)

If you can figure out how you did it, you should write a method book about it since you could play high notes!! Then you can spam all of us here at TM with your video/advertising and challenge us to a "duel" to see who can cramp AND play the highest!!
