August 14-19. Is anyone here attending? I am considering auditing a couple of days.
What is it? I live in toronto, and any brass related thing would be nice to go to.
Sounds like fun.
The faculty line up for the Toronto Trumpet Symposium includes:
Someday I would love to attend one of these, but unfortunately it’s not going to happen this year. A week with James Thompson and Jens would probably last me a lifetime in instilling an “ideal†sound model.
Please give a full report on the days that you audit!
I think I am going to see about getting Ensemble Participan access.
Preparing two works for performance is a bit short notice for me.
I'll be there. I know a couple other folks from internet land -- Dan Ostler and Ellis Workman -- are going.
Hope you can make it, Alex.
I am fairly certain I will be there from Tuesday to Friday. The campus housing is filled, so I am looking for a reasonable hotel near the metro. Does anyone know if the campus is on the Metro line? I am going to do all of my research this evening and solidify my plans. I really can't wait to see and hear Jim again. It has been a while. Jens is always a treat of course.
It will be great to meet up with other TMers.
The campus is right beside the St. George Subway station I beleive.
Thank you very much!
The website for the event is http://www.trumpetsymposium.com/index.html All of the information you need is there.
I look forward to it! I definitely plan on taking detailed notes and reporting back.
Hey Alex, would you be interested in giving me a lesson during one of the break/practice times? I would love to try an eclipse trumpet and hear your musical philosophies.
Sure Brek! I will be there Monday - Thursday, so I am sure we can find time to get together. Tuesday or Wednesday are probably the best days as I am flying in on Monday and out on Thursday evening. What days are you planning to attend? I will have the Eclipse C trumpet with me and would be happy to let you give it a try. Bring your favorite duets! It will be great to meet you.
