    Thank you for your support Pete, I have been practicing hard, and I hope that my dedication will pay off --- and it has; but not from the information in that post. Rowuk was right and over analysing my embouchure, and I think while it worked for the time, it wouldn't have worked for all registers all the time. Again, thanks for the thoughtfulness of your post.

    ON THE PLUS SIDE: I have been heeding Rowuk's advice: relaxing the embouchure, using better air support, trying not to tense. Thus far I have been making progress. I'm trying not to speed ahead too quickly before my fundamentals are solid. Now 5 hours of playing a day is useful, with the correct ideas in mind. I actually hope that I don't get first parts for a while, so I can continue to build until I get to the point where my range is the result of efficient air usage and relaxation. Wish me luck!
