    The solo that the last person in that video played sounds very familiar, yet I can't quite place it. can anybody tell me what it is?

    That was from J. Haydn's concerto for trumpet in E flat (3rd mvt)

    I go all red in the face when I do that - and you can't actually hear the note, as beautiful as I make it ;-).

    Other than the fact that he can play more than an octave higher than I can,
    and he can do it more reliably and with less strain,
    and his tone is better,
    and he has more talent than I do,
    other than that...
    ...

    the coolest thing about that guy is that he doesn't talk about range. He just plays whatever is proper for the moment - and that in a very low impact way.

    We can be cool like that too. We just need to practice making music and not talking about what we are and can do.
