I love the way Wynton looks at him...

I have a suspicion from some of Shorty's playing that there might've been a little bit of mentorships going on.

A little? Shorty was that age when I first played with him in New Orleans. He was taken under Glen Andrew's wing early on in his development as well as James Andrews. Troy is from a very musical family. (GDA 2.0) He really took off when he got to NOCCA to study though. Kid is a natural.

Troy is absolutely amazing. Great musician and great guy.
Already giving back so much to New Orleans with his foundation.
I've met him a few times, and each time he's always asking the kids that come to meet him "do you play an instrument?"
No better ambassador for the importance of music for kids and for giving back to those who gave to you.
