I think they add to the whole feel of it, especially the bari saxophone. If only I could have seen the half-time performance.

Is that a monitor in his ear?

Great job, TS!!!! He's got a real New Orleans flavor to his rendition and he didn't forget any words.:-)

Well, he does make some visits to Dave at the shop, and his trombone mouthpiece is a Monette...but Dave won't sell STC-2's or STC-3's to people that don't have a Monette horn that matches that mouthpiece. If I called the Monette shop right now and asked for an STC-3 mouthpiece, they would ask me for the serial number to my Monette trumpet (I know this from experience).

Perhaps Troy was a special case? Dave certainly takes care of his loyal customers....It could possibly be a custom mouthpiece for his horn too. And lastly, he could have picked it up used.... Who knows? All I know is that Troy Andrews is an absolute beast on trumpet (and trombone)!

I could get a serial, look on ebay for them.

I think that if you have the right amount of money I could get a STC - 3 for my 2335 if I wanted.

That sure would be interesting. You'd be playing on a mouthpiece that's more expensive than the trumpet! I'm sure it would work fine and sound fine though...
