Trumpet playing taking on clarinet = bad?

    I am not sure splitting practice time up when it comes to clarinet with trumpet is as important as say trumpet and trombone .. as long as you are practicing the trumpet.
    I think the different size mouthpece thing is tricky but not so much the reed deal. I use to play a few tunes on Sax and flute and went right back to trumpet on the next song without a hitch. Nothing really technical just top 40 stuff.

    It depends on the player. The change in embouchure can present some with insurmountable problems. You figure this out quickly enough and can make adjustments.
