    I agree Vulgano Brother it's not sugar -coated by why is this instument so d+# hard to play
    I wrote that reply before to get a rise out of everyone and make them realize just how hard it is to make it in this bussiness BUT of course this my just be an innocent little boy who maybe in sixth grade and is just starting trumpet and just asked a question. Anthony

    Anthony, it was a good question CornetBoy asked, but ultimately the answer to "How much should I practice?" has nothing to do with the age or experience of the questioner. The answer will always be the same: "More, but smarter."

    I like both my old Chevy Cavalier sedan and my Chevy Silverado 4 door pick-up. One or the other will get me where I want to go and transport my instruments and equipment also. Point is auto thieves don't want the Cavalier whereas there is no quick money in the risk. In this economy, not much more for the pick-up.

    I've seen Ford tractors, Lamborghini tractors and even Porsche tractors. Never a Chevrolet tractor. I figure if you can't make a tractor you can't make much of anything good.

    Practice daily so you conclude you have practiced enough.

    Trumpet is a demanding mistress.

    Perhaps this will get you going. Chris Botti talks about the very thing you brought up. Bravo for doing so.
