    I'm looking for a funny trumpet saying to go on a t-shirt for my high school trumpet section, so I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.

    My favorite saying comes from one of Helmut Rilling's trumpeters in Germany: "Bach knew the trumpet is loud. Had he wanted it soft, he would have written the part for recorder!"

    How about -

    There are two sides to a trumpeter's personality:
    There is the one that lives only to lay waste to the
    woodwinds and strings, leaving them lying blue
    & lifeless along the swath of destruction. That is a
    trumpeter's fury; then there is the dark side.......
