Yeah, im an upstream type IV and i really cant march! I just thought it was not enough pressure but maybe it is embochure...

I cant play with bone dry lips, but i also cant with wet, so moist maybe? lol.

I need the mouthpiece to be dry or it slips and it is a bit more difficult to play.

I've tried messing around with the pressure but that just kills my endurance and my top lips! Damn you marching! And our director has a strict marching style for everyone...and that's not helping the bouncing.

Oh I've been reading around lately and I'm trying a half wet half dry embouchure.
Try keeping your bottom lip wet and top lip dry, seems to be working out for me, I'll see how it goes in a week.

HAHAHAHA. Sofus!!! Behave, there are children on here! That being said, wife and I trying to get preg... no luck yet. I was involved in a car wreck about a decade ago and there might be some damage... grrr. But that's what adoption is for right?! Anyways, before kids I need to find a freakin job! Anyone hiring in the Colorado Springs area?! Ha. Ok, I won't hijack the thread....

I am an "upstream" wet player. Had no problems when I did marching bands in highschool/college. I think a lot of times people just think to darn much. Just make the piece of tubing sing... or scream depending on your line of work! HA.

We were playing an instrumental upswing/jazzy piece in church the other day... had a shake in it on a huge V chord before the tonic (I'll Fly Away). Solo chair leans over to me: "Tim, what type of shake you want?" Me: "Let's do octaves and give the grey hairs something to complain about!" Oh man, was it fun... yeah, we heard about it from the band leader! HAHAHA.

Absolutely right, friend! Me and my wife had
no luck creating children, and so we decided
to adopt. We got the cutest little girl from
Colombia (Latin America). We went there
ourselves and stayed a month in Bogota.
That sure was a trip! Today our daughter is
22 years old, studying music at a conservatory.
Adopting her is the absolutely wisest thing I´ve
EVER done for myself, all times, all categories!!
