under perform under pressure

    Hi Brem,
    Yep it can shake a person to the core when they have to follow a great musician.
    Here's what I do:
    If I'm anxious about performing after someone else has performed, I know my head is in the wrong place. I'm there to "sing" with my trumpet and have fun making myself and people happy. Not to compete.
    You are the best trumpet player in the world standing in the spot you are standing right now. Just be yourself and play. Remember, its called playing, not working. If you are unpleased with your performance, go home and work on fixing it.
    Now for the second part that will help.
    Find the prettiest woman in the audience and play as if you are playing just to her.
    I've yet to find a situation where this didn't work.
