    I found another helpful tip for practicing Clarke’s second study. This is from John McNeil’s “The Art of Jazz Trumpetâ€

    “Another useful warn-up is Herbert L. Clarke’s Second Study…Finger every E and A with the third valve. Since most fingering problems involve lack of independence in the third valve finger, this exercise should definitely help to get your fingers working and improve your coordination.†(p.77)
