What I find interesting is that they do not mention that the valve casing be coated with an abundance of oil. They doused the valve to get rid of any burnishings/particles that may have rubbed off during use or been blown in. However, the valve is only 1 of 2 surfaces that could contain this debris. Wouldn't it make sense to make sure the case is debris-free too? I know they washed it under the sink and scrubbed it well, but they only recommended that once every month or two, while oiling the valves after every use.
