For Veterans Day, take time out to play taps for our fallen soldiers. Over 7800 buglers from Bugles Across America will be hard at work this weekend and Monday, making sure this job will be accomplished.

As a member of Bugles Across America, I salute the effort. However, Veterans Day is to honor the living veterans, not the fallen. The fallen veterans are remembered on Memorial Day. That said, if there is a memorial service to honor the fallen, then it is appropriate to play taps. For example, or local American Legion Post, hosts a Veterans Day dinner at a local restaurant. The on Veterans Day they hold a "Brick Laying" ceremony, whereby an engraved brick with the name and branch of service of the fallen, is placed in a memorial pathway. We honor those with a rifle salute and taps.
