Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I came across a photo inscribed "83 Bugle Band"... and on the back it has "Queens Own Band Toronto"

I know HL Clarke played in the Queens Own band in Toronto in 1883... is he one of these kids in the photo?? Is it REALL that band? Are the uniforms correct for that era, they look more WW1-ish to me.

I'd guess it is a field musician band, drums and bugles. I agree that it's a photo from much later than 1883, so the "83" must stand for something else, like the division, regiment, or something.

Turns out it is the same band, but in 1914. It is the 83rd Battalion of the Queens Own Rifle Bugle Band.
    Clark was long gone.
