VINTAGE HORN EYE CANDY

    Was that the standard design for third slide intonation aid on Bachs at the time? It looks very funny and seems like it is not the best technical solution compared to competing designs of the time...

You may need to go to the eye dentist after looking.....but anyway, this was from the Idaho City Museum. An old mining town booming in the 1860’s ( highest population west of the Mississippi at one point ) and now a sleepy little quaint village
    with many of the buildings kept in period condition. One of the cornets looks like one of the miners took it along and forgot he had it with him and the ore car ran over it.....maybe?

    Seeing that horn laying on its second valve slide is making me itch all over......

    I know, it's always obvious when someone is handling or placed a horn whether or not they know a thing about it. Also, notice how damaged they are, especially the cornet on the right. It must have gone through the ringer.
    Also, the trumpet on the top shelf is definitely of a more modern era than the signage was indicating, late 1860s-70s.

    I thought I would throw up a class photo of the current crew. I have traded through a lot of great horns but these are my favorites (so far :D).
