This is such an amusing video (well I thought it was amusing) that I decided to post it here.
I can do that no problems...
Wow Wow Wheee! Allan is coming to Univ. of Nevada, Reno for a masterclass this next spring and I can't wait to see him in person.
I have a riddle for you all... why does Vizzutti turn his trumpet upside down in the last variation?
Because he can
Haha. Well because he can of course but sorry... that was not the answer I was looking for...
Man, I gotta go practice now...
It is probably the right answer though - he is the consumate showman and that is a great showpiece.
Why does Trent Austin sometimes do solos with an upside down trumpet?
Because it looks very cool and always gets a great reaction from the crowd.
I remember Allen doing a master class at the NYBC some years ago, which opened with him playing from his Carnival of Venus variations. After palying it, he looked up at the crowd and just said, "Any questions?" He is a GREAT showman.
