I found a good deal on a used Yamaha ytr-2335, but it has a dent on the 2nd valve slide and the 2nd valve sticks pretty bad. I've already taken it into a shop and left it to get serviced, but I figured I'd ask about it here as well to see what you all think the issue might be.

Interestingly, the valve only sticks when seated correctly. If it's seated backwards, the valve moves freely up and down, but of course the airflow is obstructed. I'm just not sure why it would only be stuck when seated correctly...

    Any ideas?

The nylon guide will only seat in one orientation and will not seat 180 degrees away. Check to see what the real situation is. Also, damage to the 2nd slide often causes damage to the 2nd valve casing especially with the 2335.
