    Hey Manny,

I haven't written in a while because I've been trying to figure some stuff out just by playing a lot but this one problem keeps haunting me...

I have this weird tongue speed issue where I can tongue at 126 beats a minute top speed but can't tongue (or can't control my tongue) and anywhere from 96-120. It doesn't make sense why this is so. I hear so many friends of mine complain about not being able to tongue fast enough but I can tongue fast enough just not slow enough. Have you ever encountered this before? Not sure what to do?

Leadpipe buzzing might help. Take out your tuning slide and practice tonguing through the leadpipe at various tempi. Isolate the K tongue to get better control/strength. The pipe will point out any not-clean attacks right away. If you can sound good at any speed on the pipe, you'll sound GREAT on the horn.
