Had a minor heart attack when the 2nd valve started hanging up after cleaning time today.
My thoughts went immediately to what I'd managed to bang the second slide against (nothing that I knew off) and hoping it was only slightly tweaked. Turned out that a single strand of hair from one of my dogs had managed to get in the casing.

tl;dr - My darn dogs shed so much that even they're covered in fur.

Ok... I just want to know... what are you doing stuffing dog fur into your horns? I mean, I heard of wood shedding, but dog shedding... I just don't know.

Don't be cheap, get your dog his own horn so he doesn't have to sneak yours!

In my experience, puppy practice mutes work best if you put them in head first.

I actually laughed out loud when I read this. :D I'm glad the valves are fine.
