Hi guys, I am a trombone player and I have a serious and annoying problem with my lips, my lips need to be dry for me to play well. I have been trying to play with wet lips during my PRACTICES. I feel I am starting to get a little bit more comfortable and my range is slowly but surely coming through. I have been playing with wet lips during my practices for about 3 weeks now. I HAVE BRACES IF MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE

I am fully aware of the trombone forum. I fill like trumpet players get this problem more than trombone players and that why I have posted here.

Cheers in advance fellow brass players :)

There are a lot of players that play dry. I notice a higher susceptibility for infections. Why are you worried about this?

In the search zone, you could enter the keyword "upstreamplayers". It leads to an old (2009) thread initiated by Robert Slotte, about this subject : wet or dry lips for upstream players. It may interest you.
