I started playing at 8 years old. My horn was a Conn 22B........an old one
I started at age 13 after a year of clarinet. Back then, there was no early music program except for strings. My musician father bought me a brand new 1955 Martin Committee cornet. Now 66 and have gone thru a number of horn safari's lately.
I was also 8 years old. I believe that my first horn was a Besson 2-20.
10-11 with a cornet (Selmer in C/Bflat, it still works !). But nothing serious until 18... Stop for a few years, begin again, several times in my life : I'm now 65 !
Age 13, and the first horn was an Olds Ambassador cornet.
Young, like 2nd-3rd grade, I think the summer between, which would make me...about 8?
That would have been about 7 years ago, so yeah.
I played an old Holton Collegiate, which my parents bought me for $50. I can't remember if I used the Yamaha 11, or the Giardinelli 7C. I still have the horn, and both MPs.
I remember not being able to hold the horn up.
Started playing when I was 6 and I am now 43. I have had two breaks. A week off for my honeymoon and 8 days when I had an operation. Go figure how much time I've spent with that thing on my face.
started in 4th grade, around 10 years old. My first trumpet was a TR300, and it served me well, until I bought a Jupiter JTR-600 last year as a junior.
was 14 in the 8th grade, first horn was a Olds Ambassador trumpet, now 51
Started as a 9 or 10 year old on a Boosey and Hawkes Regent MkII (which I still have and use for marching) - I had a 37 break from 12 yo - came back as a mid-life crisis I think - that was 9 years ago.
