I started playing in 4th grade on an Olds student Model. Quit for after High School and bought a Bach Stratavarius #37 in 1993 to play in a community band. Quit again after a year or 2 and now decided to take it up again, so I am joining the Local Community Band again. I am 63 1/2 years old.

I seem to have a common story.

Started at age 10 through 18 on a Getzen 300. Started again at age 47, for three months now.

Welcome Ocdlaw. Nice story, and a fellow Cal Poly alum.

My father decided for me at the age of 10 that I was going to play the sax. I still play that once in a while, but the trumpet is where my heart is.

I started playing in college, and have been playing off/on since then (the last 40+ years). Where did the time go?

My first horn was a very old shepherds crook cornet, which was rented. After a few months I bought a King Silver Flare for about $250, as I recall.
