Sadly, at this moment, I can't play the trumpet. Someday, I will again.
I want to be able to roll my tongue and make the "R" sound. I'm a new player, (Of three years ) and I'm trying my best to be a good trumpet player.
Sight read anything put in front of me.
Rich, I think that there is clear evidence that a lot of people left your performance very happy.
Since I turned 50 many years ago, Double C's were pretty easy, but because I am a mere amateur,
my sight-reading ability is terrible.
Anything faster than eighth notes is too fast.
So, knowing my own limitations, I stick to slow ballads.
(Unfortunately, old age has caught up with me and now my range is only a High G.)
+1 on a high, jazzy lip trill... some day.
Abbreviated list, please note.
Play the last variation of the Carnival of Venice at the same speed as Wynton does it.
Play consistently well every time, instead of having moments of nicely played.
Sight read intricate stuff. First time. ( I guess after the first time, it’s no longer sight reading?)
Many other things, but I am not exactly sure of what I absolutely can’t do. Maybe more like what I haven’t quite been able to do......yet.
