My lead player and I were recently awarded Skype lessons with Mr. Bergeron for this summer. I'm trying to amass a selection of questions (good ones) that I could ask him.

I'm pretty sure he has answered that question here on the forum :)

Ask him to describe his daily warm-up.

Ask him why he doesn't play without valves like a real man :)

I'd ask him what he would be doing today if he was 20years old again to build a successful career in today's music business climate as a trumpet player.

When he did it there were alot more playing opportunities... Lots of bands were still touring in the 80's. You could go out on the road and make your bones, but not so much anymore.

Generic questions like jiarby's are a good way to go. Ask about air, daily routine, leading a section, musicianship, prior experiences in band or orchestra, hobbies, favorite foods before a gig, etc.

P.S. How's the Hindemith coming along?

Does holding the horn (using the third finger grip... fingers above or below the third valve slide) impact on the ease of playing high range?
