Me too. I guess a smaller concert band. I like one on a part and a smaller sound. I like it when I can share musical ideas.
Playing in the symphony is nice too. I guess you need a lot of patience. I don't like counting 100 measures rest and then playing two notes and then counting another 100. How about in rehearsal counting 85 of the 100 and the conductor goes back 50 measures?

At this late stage in my life I am priveleged to play in four concert bands, three of them community concert bands and the fourth is a major college concert band,( at age 75 ). I also play in a twelve piece brass ensemble for the monster hymnsings at a local mega church,( my absolute favorite musical endeavor ).

    I think
arching band and drum corp can be a lot of fun. I don't think they relate too much to learning about music.

You are kidding me right? We ( and I say that loosely because I made one but couldn't play for them cause of finances) don't particularly like being called marching bands.

Haha, good stuff. I thought it might be a wink thing, but couldn't really tell. It just gets old when you have people call you a marching band all the time who have no idea what they are talking about. All of the better marching bands don't really compare. It's a whole different ball game.
