Benny had the knack of making sane people go nuts!

My third year in Baltimore, I got several other job offers. Baltimore matched those offers, and raised the ante by giving me a job with management. When Benny Goodman played with the Baltimore Symphony it was part of my job to hang with Benny.
Benny requested a grand piano for the concert. Management thought that he was going to use a piano player.............WRONG! Benny used the piano to lean on......He didn't hire a piano playerROFL
    He had the knack!

Ha... Before I modified my first post, I used some colorful language to describe the sweet old man. He seems so nice, but I saw him on a news show, and when asked about how he was so good (is it fingers or ear training) he said "you either have it or you don't" and from then on, that jerk statement stuck in my head. Because obviously, that's not the case. Ha... Crazy man. But you know... He left a legacy, so whatever
