BTW - check this link..you have a hell of a lot more options than I do here in Melbourne.
You live in a very Musical Community that seems well supported by your local council.

Some of the societies, clubs and groups may even offer pit work by the looks of it. Many choices to sit back off the stress areas, and still contribute to a musical experience for yourself and others.

Thanks Peter, quite a lot of info, and some nice videos, it's interesting that one of them is of Thomas Gansch one of my favourite players, try this: YouTube - ‪Thomas Gansch and US Army Band 2010‬‏ it's Thomas with the US Army Band with "I remember Clifford". I also enjoy any of the Mnozil Brass videos.
Looking back to when I used to attend concerts and clubs I had a friend who always said "When you hear a good player doesn't it make you want to take out your instrument and jump on it." my reply was "maybe but if you listen to a great player it makes you want to play and play". I still find this to be true, Thomas Gansch, Winton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove etc. etc. never discourage me, they and their like are so inspirational.
