I just bought an 80's vintage Holton ST302. It has a "D" shaped tuning slide. Actually, it's slightly more squared off than tuning slides that I've seen from photos on other ST302's. Does anyone know where a guy can get some old trumpet parts, besides buying an old beater for parts. I would like to try a more rounded slide to see if it would open up the blow some more. Having one fabricated from scratch would probably be expensive. I'm guessing that the new ST307's "C" slide won't because of the reversed lead pipe.

    Thanks,
    Doug

    Yee HAW!
Probably not as much as you might think and possibly less than buying a "parts horn" (and that with no guarantees that the parts will fit). Check with one of the repair/overhaul gurus.
