Okay... thinking about the next CD project now that I'm only weeks away from getting my solo disc back from the duplicators. Let me know if you have thoughts about:

    1. Trumpet with Strings ballads
    2. Pic Trumpet with Strings (clarino stuff... M. haydn, Richter, Molter, etc)
    3. Dual CD with #1 and #2
    4. A follow-up to my first disc, Trumpet 101
    5. A funky "smoothish" disc.

While I'm waiting for my new solo disc to arrive (the special work I did on the disc takes about 1 month longer than expected) I thought I could be a bit proactive for CD #4.

thanks for your thoughts in advance!

I am a sucker for a "with strings" jazz album.

#3 (Combo of 1 and 2). I might be in the minority, but I don't see why a cd as to be all one genre. Unless it'll mess up the sales potential too much, mix it up!

    Trent,

I really like the way you hadle a ballad.

    That would be my choice.

I'm leaning towards #1 or 3 as well but it's awfully expensive. Perhaps it would be worth it but people aren't really flocking to buy CDs these days. I am exploring option #3 to maximize my time with the string ensemble.

    5. Funky smoothish or 1. tpt with strings (funky and smoothish)

I am not into buying baroque stuff with the picc anymore. Niklas Eklund changed my view.

I am a ballads fan. Especially the old standards. If you do a ballads CD I can guaranty at least one will sell.
