I read this on trumpetmaster today... (I've been thinking about tongue position ever since reading about it in one of Claude Gordon's books.)
If the position of the tongue controls the pitch played on a trumpet like it does when one whistles, then, (if there was no slotting on a horn), a note could be whistled, the embouchure changed (leaving the tongue in place) and blown on the trumpet, resulting in a note of the same pitch as was whistled, right? Or am I missing something here?

Never mind, I found my info in the "whistling tongue postion relative to playing?" thread.
