    Germany
Dan Patrylak (Eastman), Armondo Ghitalla (Summer vacations), Dale Marrs (Stuttgart, Germany) and Heinz Zickler(since 1980). Master classes are a different situation all together.

Important is not WHO we study with, rather if we were with them long enough to understand what they meant.............

I guess being able to get your message across to a student makes for good teaching. I've also heard that not all great players make good instructors.

grade 7-11 with Michael Denovchek / Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for 37+ years
    - 'Mr D' passed away when I was a high school senior. I was gutted ...

college with Rich Illman / Eastern Kentucky University (then he moved to Michigan State Univ)
    - Rich told me at my last lesson as a college senior about to graduate, "you play more musically than any student I've had ... if you just had some technique you would really have something!"

... ah, the triumph and failure in the life of a musician. As Rich would say it, I needed more HTOF = Horn Time On Face!

My pedigree seems pretty lacking by comparison to most of you.
