That's sort of a silly question, isn't it? I like Wynton's sound just about as much as I like Chet, Miles, Freddie, Maynard, and Payton. Not to mention Dizzy, Blanchard, and Kisor. Then there's Printup, Morrison, Clifford, Arturo, Terry, Doc, Navarro, Harrel and Shew. They're all different but they're all good. Any other trumpet players you guys think that have a sort of nice sound?

Besides this silly topic ... you have started:

Need to play higher, should I gain weight?
Who is the best trumpet player in the world?
Has Anyone ever seen Maynard with his shirt buttoned?

These are trumpet players life changing questions.

Of course, this question, like the other inane questions in posts that Cookiemonster has started, is subject to personal opinion.

That being said, I have always liked Maynard's sound. Whether or not it's the "best", who knows?
