    Hangin's too good for him... I say let's make him listen to a yet unreleased mp3 from my band's upcoming CD, and then watch him suffer as he slowly succumbs to his mortal life as he knows it on this earth.

    I started playing cornet at the age of five, playing in one of the two brass bands in our town. When I was about ten my dad and the bandmaster took me to see the CWS Manchester Band at the Colston Hall in Bristol. From that moment my hero was no longer footballer Martin Peters. It was Derek Garside. The man was a god!
    I gave up playing when I was fourteen but forty years later I picked up a trumpet and have been playing all summer. I googled Derek and was saddened to see he had passed on, but he left an impression with that ten year old boy that is still there today.
    Also, Harry James for the way he made the horn sing and Melissa Venema for her beautiful ringing tone.
