Hello all. I wanted to share a new classical work that I have been listening to for the last few weeks. It is titled "The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace" and composed by Karl Jenkins. Interestingly, it was commissoned by Englands's oldest museum whose main purpose is the display of the hardware of war. Mixed political statement I guess! I have found it to be a beautiful work that I can not stop playing! It has been in my car cd player constantly since I bought it. Lots of exposed trumpet playing although much of it is the "fanfare" type that we are often relegated there are some nice lyical moments as well. So many in fact that the London Philharmonic Principal Trumpet, Paul Beniston, is acknowledged on the CD jacket. Very nice playing! Check it out. I don't think you will be disapointed. Several "goosebump" moments!
