Looking to sell or trade my recently acquired Getzen Severinsen. It is a very early production with serial number 2427. I just got the horn back from Dick Ackright at Best Instrument Repair in Oakland where the following work was done:

    -Chem Clean
    -New Felts and Pads
    -Polish
-Ding Removal (there were no significant dents)
-Nub on 2nd Valve Slide Replaced (not original - looks like a gold plated piece from a Bach)
-3rd Valve Slide - Ring was permanently affixed. It's the same distance from the valve casing as you'd find on any horn with a non-adjustable ring.

Valves are in excellent shape with superb compression. Silver is 99+%. The horn plays great with tremendous intonation. Of course, it really shines in the upper register.

If I needed a horn to play lead in a big band or any other "screaming" assignment, this would defintely be my weapon of choice. But what I really need is something that will blend in with the other 4 trumpets in the community band that I just joined. They're all playing Bach Strads and I need something a little darker/heavier. I'm open to anything suitable.

Comes with a BRAND NEW ProTec case as seen in the pictures. Also comes with the additional .458 bore tuning slide.

Slide show of photos can be seen here: Picasa Web Albums - fannyfoodle - 2010-03-24

Will sell for $575 or comparable trade.

Just an idea, why not put a ringmute on the Getzen to cool it off. I use one on an MF Horn for just that purpose and it works like a charm. It just might save you a several 100bucks

Would you accept a PayPal payment? How much would you charge for shipping?

tzigler - I think I'm setup for PayPal, but it might be linked to an old bank account. I'll have to look into it. Shipping would be actual cost. Can't imagine it being more than $20.

Markie - I just might consider that, depending on what happens. I'd really like to go back to the Yamaha 6335HS II that I had previously. It's a great horn that would suit perfectly.

A few inquiries, but nothing official at the moment. The horn, for clarification, is a ML bore (.460) and comes with the extra .458 tuning slide as well. My preference is for a trade as opposed to an outright sale - if possible.

I am very interested in your Severinsen trumpet. I could offer you a Schilke trumpet,
but I think it's more expensive than the Getzen. I'd prefere to buy your trumpet if possible.
