Yeah, if you look closely, the horn he beats to pieces on the chair isn't the same one he plays right before that. Definitely a stunt double. :D

I watched it. Am always trying to ID the horns too. Harry sounded great.

I think the movie's pretty corny. So I've seen it many times and own the DVD as well, LOL.

I have the original soundtrack LP that I got when I was a teen and love it. If anybody wants to know how to play fills behind a singer, check out Harry's playing with Doris. To my taste, he's a little busy sometimes but still, it never seems to overwhelm. Great playing and singing.

One thing that's mystified me for years. Both the book and movie continue to be described as based on the life of Bix Beiderbecke. Huh!? I'd sure like someone to show me how the main story line in that plot has a parallel with Bix's life.

Ah, Hollywood's "based on" means one of two things:

    1. Someone got paid for being ripped off

    2. Someone didn't get paid for being ripped off

I found this on last night while flipping through channels. I watched most of it but went to bed before the end. Imagine a brand new Benge ( or whatever the horn was) for $9  . I liked the first half of the film can't say much on the rest.
