Can you tell me what resolution your home computer is set to? (right click on desktop, click on Properties, click Settings tab, see Screen Resolution). If it is set to 800x600 or lower the site will fill the whole screen.

You are bang on, Chris. Thanks for the tip. I know the one at work is set at a higher resolution (necessary due to some of the special graphics software I run that allows me to check operating parameters within our factory processs).

Ok all,

The good news is I was able to make this site crash on my computer using IE6. I have made some changes and this does not seem to happen any more. The bad news is that the changes involve removing some important IE layout hacks, so some posts are going to look funny for a while, specifically posts where there is a large-ish avatar linked from another site. You'll know what I mean when you see it

Again, this is an IE only bug. Please let me know if you continue experiencing crashes as it is possible that there is another issue here. In the meantime I'll be working to find a permanent solution to this, bear with me.

-Chris

Cool!

When the decision was made to go with a fixed-width site design for this site (as seems to be in vogue these days), we knew this could be a point of confusion. It's a big change from the variable-width "liquid" design of the old site.

Superb work, Chris. I can see the referenced post now but, like you said, it seems formatted a bit "funny". No worries.

greenleaf music

Hey everybody,

My name is Jim Tuerk and I am working for trumpeter Dave Douglas’ new label that he has recently formed. If you have never heard of him (and to make a case), he has been Downbeat’s Critics Poll winner in the recent past, as well as playing with some of the best players ever. Most everyone agrees that he is a trumpet genius.

I want to invite you all out to our new site: www.greenleafmusic.com. Dave will be blogging over there as well as our Greenleaf subscribers enjoying the amenities that Greenleaf is offering… Oh, and the music, too.

See you there.

Jim Tuerk

Oooooookay folks. I believe this issue is sorted out now, and things should look normal again. with no crashes. for real.

If you have disabled javascript in IE things will still look funny. if you don't know what I'm talking and things look ok then forget I even said that

Chris

It's nice, but in the posts there's a lot of unused space
