The real musician always has the big picture. The most important thing about the last bar is that it is the last bar. Any cracked notes are more rememberable there than anywhere except the beginning. You being a superior musician first (and a high note expert second) will do what is necessary to make that last chord memorable(for the right reasons!).

Wow, I'd just like to thank everyone for all the advice they have given me. It has really helped me think about what I should be concentrating on as a player.

p.s. I hit a high E today while I was warming up (and hanging out) before band actually "started". But it was quiet and it was one of those notes you hit once and never hit again (for a while anyway), and besides the quiet part, it sounded pretty solid if I do say so myself.
